Even at the Pawnshop..
Was walking along a row of shops at a HDB estate and was near a pawn shop when I saw this sexy looking and yet friendly type of Malay lady in her mid 20s. She seemed troubled and was stressing herself about something and she was looking at the pawn shop as if it could end her life.
I approached her, this shocked her and jolted her out of her own little troubled world, and asked her if I could help her in anyway. I couldn't but help looking down her blouse and catch a quick glimpse of her swell under the opening of her blouse, it was an half off-shoulder piece. She looked at me and managed to just say "do I know you?". I immediately assured her that I'm not selling anything and that I noticed that she seemed troubled and that she seemed too sweet to be in that much of trouble. She started to laugh and asked me if anyone else had fallen for that line before? I told her that no one has and it wasn't a line and I was seriously only asking because I really thought she was troubled. She looked up at me and said "Thank you". I asked her what for? and she answered "for caring". She was surprised that someone actually noticed and bothered. She didn't think it showed on her face. I asked her if she wanted to talk about it and offered to get her a drink. She accepted.... __________________ |

Re: Even at the Pawnshop..
We made our way to a starbucks at a nearby mall and sat down in a corner and ordered some drinks and started talking. She was still a little shy and I think it felt awkward for her talking to a stranger.
Her name is Resha, a 25 year old single mom. Her husband had just passed away and she was left with a lot of debts. She was standing in front of the pawnshop thinking of pawning her last piece of gold jewellery. The only think she had that was of value to her. Loan sharks were at her door steps all due to her husband. He didn't leave her a dime and she is struggling to make ends meet with her income from her office job as a HR executive. I felt bad as she was almost in tears. She doesn't have any support from her relatives. Friends help when they can. She is looking for a second job and is able to because her mom helps her at home. I told Resha that I had helped an Indian girl(Nishanti) before and though it was not easy at first, Nishanti managed to get thru her difficult times and is doing better now and is free from financial problems. I asked her if she was seeing anybody now. She looked up at me and said that she was single and available and ready to try anything as long as it doesn't involve selling herself. I told her that the only way to make fast cash is by doing just that... She immediately stood up and gave me a stare and asked me if I was a pimp.. |
