There is a picture display web page with a girl in it. Damn, I have used the service from that provider before. This is not good, as reporter reported our best kept secret. I guessed no point discuss how to prevent it, whatever methods discussed, I guessed the reporter/AV will also be reading it. Who knows he may also wanted to join in discussion and prepare for cyber-pimp part II(The nab of pimp). I would do what best for me now. Just happy bonking as much as I can. |

Re: Alert for online pimps
It caught my attention as well. Bet that the AV is well informed, but just didn't take action because it's not really that easy to pin down the offender so they might be closing an eye to it till there's a big haul for them
Meanwhile, do it discreetly and carefully. |

Re: Alert for online pimps
Well, it goes to show that no one is safe around here with those bloody AV and fucking reporters lurking around. All we can do is hope that the fella u pass the contact to is not either of them. I am not siding anybody, but it could be anyone. It could be a newbie or senior samster or even some fella who just during tcc session tell a friend who so happens work for that fucked up newspaper. So beware bros...

Re: Alert for online pimps
Just back from geylang. Heard from the coffeeshop talk there that few OKT are being watched by AV and some local gals have been hauled up for kopi. Some china gals too. Think AV is going to clamp down hard liao since newspapers report liao. Anyway, think lie low for time being is best. Lucky i no go thru any OKT for any bonk.

Re: Alert for online pimps
sometimes these people just threaten for the sake of a story. And to juice up the story they add pics and blow up perceiving parts to enhance their writing nia. At times don't read too much into their crap

Yes, they just abuse their freedom to write and invade others privacy! They are the ones who are the low-life. Nothing better to do make us paranoid only

Re: Alert for online pimps
Clients don't see them but...
E-pimps can still be nabbed By Alvin Chiang February 25, 2007 THEY do not walk the streets like the foreign women you see in Geylang or Joo Chiat. So these women, who are mostly from countries in this region, can avoid being arrested for soliciting. While prostitution is not an offence, soliciting is. But what of the cyber pimps who post the women's pictures online and get clients - by SMS - to meet them in budget hotel rooms in Balestier, Chinatown and Geylang? Although the Internet offers some anonymity, lawyer A P Thirumurthy said these pimps would be wrong to think they are out of reach of the law. 'The pimps may think they are circumventing the law, but they are not,' said Mr Thirumurthy, a former police officer with more than 10 years' experience. 'The first point of contact between the pimps and customers is the Internet. But what happens after that? 'If money changes hand after sexual services, and the pimp takes a cut, it is an offence under the Women's Charter.' Anyone who lives off the earnings of a prostitute can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000, under the Women's Charter. Repeat offenders who are male will be caned. But through using websites, the prostitutes may avoid the risk of getting caught in anti-vice or immigration raids. And, as there is no fixed place of business, with the women meeting clients in hotel rooms, the pimps cannot be accused of operating an unlicenced brothel, Mr Thirumurthy said. He explained: 'It is hard to make hotel owners account for what their guests do in the hotel rooms. Hotel owners will not know what is happening in the rooms unless there is a specific complaint against guests in a particular room. 'There may be over 100 rooms in a hotel, so the owners will not be liable for their guests' actions.' Former police officer Lionel De Souza said it may not be easy to prosecute pimps who use the Internet to advertise women for sexual services. But it doesn't mean they cannot be arrested and tried in court. Said Mr De Souza, who has 26 years of experience as a police officer: 'If the website is hosted outside Singapore, then it will be outside the jurisdiction of local law enforcement. CAN BE PROSECUTED 'But the person who put up the pictures of the women can still be prosecuted for the procurement of women for immoral purposes under the Women's Charter. 'If the guilty act (of providing paid sexual services and profiting from it) takes place here, the offence is complete and an arrest can be made.' When contacted about such pimping methods, police spokesman Danny Tan said: 'Upon receipt of a complaint or information on the use of online channels to facilitate vice activities, police will establish if an offence is committed before determining the appropriate course of action.' Last year, police arrested 4,300 women for vice activities. In 2005, the number was 3,220, and the year before that, it was 5,200. These figures do not refer to arrests made for online vice activities. http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/st...23751,00.html? |

Re: Alert for online pimps
this may casue a ripple effect to the other threads in this forum. Whatever we say or do could be monitored???? Gosh!!! What about bros here who are sharing pics in this forum? Will it be dangerous too? As based on my understanding, sharing the pics could be "unlawful"?
