Hello bros
Does any old birds staying in Thailand know if I can scan promptpay using DBS/POSB app for payments in Thailand?
I知 thinking will it be more convenient to just scan and pay for everything
including
-eating in restaurant/street food
-cheonging any type of massage or full service joint
-any type of purchase in 7/11 or supermarket
Hope to hear advices from all the bros who frequent Thailand
A lot of place in BKK have transform to online payment.
So far our Paynow not able to scan their prompt pay code in most of the place but we can make payment by entering their mobile number.

I知 a big supporter of cashless payments. DBS PayLah works with promptpay QR BUT it has to be a business account QR. Which means for eg like taxi QR is tagged to their personal bank account. Scanning will give you an error message. Night markets and mall event kiosks, it痴 50-50, some of them use a business account some personal. But for bigger companies, definitely able to scan qr. For eg, restaurants in malls. But usually they accept credit card too and I値l just use that.
Alternatively is to do promptpay to a thai phone number. UOB rates are the best. By default, the setting allows for receiving payment from an overseas account. Some of them turn it off, but I think less than 5% of those I encounter turn that function off.
The personal or business account QR by right, all must use business. By right. Haha

There was once i go to sky bar there and want to scan to pay.
Unable to scan. Error and cannot pay by credit card. Cash also not enough.
Lucky i able to send money via mobil number promptypay to thai friend and thai friend scan the QR and make payment.

encouter the same issue also. most of the small mum and pop shop are using their own personal prompt pay QR, which is not support by the banking app.
For those vendor who has a registered bussiness prompt pay QR code, they will most likley accpet the credit card. Which i rather you pay with cc to earn the rewards points.
My suggestion is to rely on cash and CC instead of prompt pay

Initially I wanted to try using QR to pay for in the mom n pop store and night market/street food but after seeing what you mention , guess cc and cash is still more reliable.
Might try to use QR code for payment if I知 in restaurants.
Thanks for the clarification bro

Yes initially think if this promptpay QR code reliable then don稚 need to bring so much cash over but I think end of the day nothing beats cold hard cash or cc
