Same-sex couples will be able to adopt for the first time in Victoria. The same-sex adoption bill, which passed the upper house last month with last-minute amendments allowing religious exemption, was debated in the lower house on Wednesday afternoon. The bill passed unopposed. The opposition was given a free vote on the bill.
