How's the ferry situation now? I'll coming from other part of Indonesia & planning to cross over to Spore. Any issue if I walk in to buy ferry tic or better to book in advance. Hope to get some ground intel. Kamsia in advance.

Price of everything every year also increase, with or without inflation. I remember last time you say before, once upon a time booking in Batam only 250k - 300k or so. Look at today's pricing now...hehehe...compare with 1.4 to 1.8 juta. My salary + market inflation also never increase 4 to 6 times.
What i am trying to say is the interest i earned next year will be use to at least subsidize the amount of spending which i will be doing in Batam, & even more so when Batam increased its price.
Yes bro. Those were the days. Still remember with S$200 i could stay 3D2N. Thats why i dont like the idea of getting more rupiahs from exchange cos hotel, cewek, food and now ferry fares, would surely rise in tandem! So it really doesnt benefit me. I would rather the currency remain stable.
If your interest earned can subsidize your spending for the whole year that means your principle amount must be huge ya.
Depending on how you treat them
If you keep them in the room whole day
Then there will be boredom
I suggest bring her out
Go watch movies
Go shopping
Go makan at food court
Then bring to bars or ktv
Sure she will stay longer
Agree with that . During booking they smile at u to get u to book them(in there mind already have plan B). after the 1st shot before u can suggest to go out for makan she already activate plan B. Guess is just luck , if handsome and young then is another story. Language is another issue.

I think language plays a factor definitely
Also if you hang out with folks from the nighlife then things would be different.
It's mostly boils down to your own contacts in batam which she's familiar with.
Hi all, its been 2 years since I last set foot on batam, planning a trip next week and read through most of the recent posts on this threads.
Just a quick question, where is a good pub to have a drink (and if lucky meet some girls). Ok with not meeting any girls as I am going alone and this trip is specifically for relax and recharge so massage is mostly priority for me. Probably will booked Batam City hotel as what the other bros here had suggested and maybe roam around BCS area.

I am bule and two weeks ago I did not visit any single pub in Kampung Bule. If you like good music and ambience, avoid. If you like playing pool and drink some beers, in company of girls from low level to some sexy one, it's ok.
My advice, if you like something at higher level, is to go to GOOD pubs: Holywings, F1 (at Planet Holiday Hotel), Square Club (at i-Hotel in Penuin), maybe even HH Club (formerly Planet 3 disco, near Newton, now something as a popular level pub, not classy). Strictly avoid ripoff places (one is Bombastic: I have never gone, but I was told so).

I agree with what you mentioned about K.Bule pubs, thot the music was really bad. Maybe I should try somewhere else next time. Thank you for the recommendations. I hope to visit them on my next trip.
I remembered even earlier than pre-covid time say maybe about 8-10 years ago, formosa hotel room pricing was adjusted when rupiah devalued.
True, they increased their pricing due to depreciation of rupiah.
Anyway, the price later drop rather a lot (compare price over the years). My latest room price was about S$40 a night on average in my favorite room,hehehe...
I love their sauna room where no one use or perhaps even know about,hehehe...can bring few girls inside to play gang bang,hehehe... i also can't remember how many girls in pop in that "room" already.
Most important of all, like Gideon Hotel's "Justme"...it is FREE to use!!!
(healthy life style)

I hope so too.

I don't know about you, but i find Batam's hotel has drop a bit.
A little lesser than before covid time.
I notice BCH has a special room which i was eyeing for a very long time (but always cannot get). And i do not have the time to try now. But i am writing it on my list for now.
I am currently at the stage of rebooting my "game" in batam & i am nowhere close to what i am looking for yet. I do not wish to rush to get there but slowing "tasting" the changes for now.
Thereafter, you probably see me staying in a just few hotels only.

My ticket is expiring on Dec. Hmm...so much changes, everything so unstable now, even in Batam.
I am preparing for CNY2023 as i type this. But before that, i need to complete my Nov 2022 trip 1st.

When i made my 1st trip to Batam about 10 years ago, i have a small target. I hope to use cheonging to sustain my cheonging (i ever mention this nearly 10 years ago in my Batam trip summaries). Meaning without spending a dime, i can still have a good time.
Before covid time, i am almost there. Today, haiz...i need to reboot all that. Yes, i am spending "my own money" on the last few trips... even tho its lesser & lesser each trip but i am still a distance from what i used to be (in Batam).
Apologize for all the ranting above, i am just feeling so tired...hehehe...the feeling is like i build something "there" with so much time & effort. It just topples down over time.
Sorry....

Now, thats good news to me & many here.
Whether it will name Formosa or not doesn't matter. Hope their chef comes back tho,hehehe... i am even prepare for drop in service level too.
Hope to see them back there again. They'll remember their regular guests like Blackpage, Kaboon, me & the rest of the other samsters here,hehehe...especially me who often put their staffs on "testes".
