The bad about taking transport from Hotel/s,it will cost more. The good thing is, the monk can runaway,the temple cant. So its a lot safer and no need for bickering over other add-on charges (unless you asked for it), eg taxi driver meals,tips,commission etc.

Something that i have been working on. But so far,it mainly works for myself and my small group of friends,and not on the majority.
How i travel in Batam today is by contacting the hotel i book my room with to pick me up and send me back after my trip. I paid nothing for that (when i run solo,but my friends paid 50k rupiah 2 way). At least the hotel is charging me 40k rupiah,unlike the private negotiating with the taxi driver outside charging me at 50k rupiah,hehehe... (40k rupiah is still expensive tho)
Well,its afterall raining heavily that day and i dont wish to use up my per year free shuttle rides for such short distance travel,so my only option then is to pay up the 40k rupiah (their locals only pay 30k to 35k rupiah).

who knws,my generation if nxt time old tat time & stil livin in sinkapore,the current garmen might jus ask us put our chas card inside a kettle wit 3 bowls of water,boil it until left 1 bwl & then drink it...& hope we get well soon...lol.
