S'pore blogger suffers severe breakout after free beauty treatment

This article is contributed by the STOMP Team.

A 28-year-old local blogger underwent a free skincare treatment and started using sponsored skincare products from a beauty salon, only to suffer a severe acne breakout that might leave her skin scarred after four days.

According to reports on Omy.sg and Lianhe Wanbao, beauty blogger Julie had posted a series of photos of herself online, showing her tremendous change in appearance over the four days.

Julie wrote that she had accepted a sponsored skincare treatment from a beauty salon on May 27, who hoped to gain publicity from her blog.

While everything remained normal after the treatment, little red spots started appearing on Julie's face the following day.

The red spots increased in number daily and even started to swell.

On two occasions, the beauty salon tried squeezing the pus out from the spots and applied medicine onto Julie's face.

However on the fourth day, the acne had spread to her whole face and left her almost unrecognisable. It is said that her skin will be scarred even after the acne goes away.

Photos 1 to 9 show local blogger Julie, while the rest shows other botched beauty and surgery procedures.
