To bros here facing problems with ICA/MOM etc regarding immigration/work issues, have you tried bringing up your cases to your MP in their weekly meet-the-people sessions?
I have a colleague who married a lady from PRC. For some reason immigration cannot disclose to him, they are restricting her from long term stays in Singapore even though they have been married for over a year with a kid born in Singapore. Every time he went to their office, the officer in charge just paid him lip service and he had to go through the hassle of renewing visit permits for his wife every couple of weeks.
Long story short, my colleague eventually went to his MP for assistance. The MP called immigration up, they did some investigation and found out that his wife had... absolutely NO real problems with immigration. No past cases of overstaying, no illegal activities, no sleazy sordid FL history or whatever.
Apparently, some idiot in the immigration office rejected her short term visit pass once erroneously and the system flagged her out as a problem case. So subsequently, immigration has been giving my colleague hell all because they didn't bother to open up the case and find out why is there even an issue at all.
Lesson learned? Government agencies screw up sometimes. And when you ask them to check, you'll never know if they're just paying you lip service until you approach them armed with an MP letter.
u mean ICA actually let your colleague know the reason after they investigate?
Your colleague MP must be very 'hardworking' to personally call them up cos from what i know, normally MP will send send a letter or e mail to them to just appeal.First time i heard of this
