I have dated several Malaysian Chinese before from different type of backgrounds.

One was a banker, from a well-to-do family, that has a good standard of living to maintain, which is normal for any woman to expect that they won't need to lower their standards by dating us. And upon learning that I have not settled yet in my career, she decided to move on.

Second was a VIP guests' liaison working for one of the casino here. Femininely attractive. She was raised by a single mother who struggled to raise 3 children by herself. Her aunt even had to help in paying for her education. Of all the 3 children, as the youngest one, she was the only one managed to get a Degree. And it's a Chemical Engineering degree. She is probably quite a smart girl.

She told me that her mother has a lot of expectations from her. This is understandable that she has the pressure to repay her mom's efforts and bring them out of their situation.

However, with the degree she had, upon graduation she decided to be VIP guests' liaison instead, where she regularly interacts with high spending gambling old men, who often approached her.

Her career choice is the sign of chosing the easiest & quickest way. And it showed. We went for about 6 dates and then suddenly she stopped responding when I asked about celebrating her birthday. Just like that. Ghosted.

Both of these women made their judgement call on what type of men that they need. And it's alright.
