I am asking myself what has this shitty nation done for me..

perhaps given me social stability, education opportunities, financial opportunities.

Thats what it has given me. A stable environment where I can choose the path I want to take in life, leverage on the opportunities given to me and succeed. Not everyone is given the same hand in life.

Some of us come from more challenging backgrounds and have to work harder to attain the same level of success, but at least we do not have to dodge bullets, be locked down in a communist country during covid, be a victim of hate crime or have our government overthrown every few years in a coup, breath in toxic air pollution or be stuck in traffic jams lasting hours.

Singapore is far from perfect, no country is but compared most parts of Asia, we are not doing too badly.
