Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

many vietnamese ladies think that singapore is short of babies, thus if they get pregnant, they sure can get PR or Citizenship. WAKE UP!!!! Whether yr viet spouse is pregnant or not doesn't influence whether yr wife can get PR. ICA considers the singaporean husband's ability to feed the wife. Some things they consider include present and past income, educational level, past criminal records etc. Besides that, the viet spouse educational level and any past criminal records in Singapore. Think about it, if the singaporean guy already cannot feed himself, how is he going to feed his foreign wife and child? I still remember some years back, there was a newspaper report on The Straits Times stating that whether the foreign wife is pregnant or not will not influence the chances of the foreign wife getting Singapore PR. I was once told by an immigration officer that ICA follows the normal marriage progression very closely. They are very cautious about foreign woman being pregnant at the time of marriage as they do not wish it to be a case where the foreign woman got pregnant by another non-singaporean guy but get married to a singaporean guy hoping that the child will be singaporean. So think twice about saying `YES, my wife is 4 months pregnant but we are married for just 2 weeks' , once u make this statement, u can say BYE BYE to yr LYSVP or PR unless u can prove that the child is yrs by DNA testing after the birth of the child. Singapore needs babies, but not that desperate yet .
