Hmmm .. it's interesting tis thread is rekindled. i thk tis is a very gd discussion cos it sums up d current situation of many s'porean men, mostly d older ones n some of d younger folks too.

in fact for myslf, sometimes i do feel attracted to tt sweet talking n demure hooker in GL, or tt innocent looking, ever smiling Thai masseuse or tt easy going chio hairdresser n thk if 1 day i wd ever marry 1 of them. mayb it's their simplicity tt makes us feel at east tt doesnt come as a package in sporean gals. being single perhaps made me feel tt way but deep down in my heart, of cos i knw there's a lot of social stigma, incl d countless tales tt d gal will run away wif yr $$$ 1 day.

but marriage is 1 big gamble isnt it? i had many friends who had enviable marriages - sporean wives, chio n capable - but ended up in divorce later. on d other hand there r also fairytales (1 army fren n 2 other samsters) which d guys are happily married to some FLs/masseuse with children. saying is easier than done. as Sam commented in pg 1: 'How would you like your friends and collegues to describe to you how good a fuck your wife was.' i guess d social stigma is there as long as u remain in spore, scruntinised under d microscopic eyes of family, relatives n frens. maybe migrating overseas will make it psychologically less burdened.
