I tink A&E have 2-3 hotels along that stretch of road. Recently my fren stay at mini-hotel at D6, its about S$18 per day.

Usually I don't stay in D1 hotel, so I do not know which hotel still survive.
One time I stay in D1 hotle is with Anh va Em hotel. You may wish to try this. Just behind Ben Thanh
