It seems to me that the Taxi service in airport is going from bad to worse.

I was coming HCMC from Singapore the other day and a taxi driver approached my Vietnamese friend. So, my VN friend told the driver rom Petrolimex, where we wanted to go, the driver just quoted us VND200K!!! My friend told the driver off and we went up the departure hall for MaiLinh taxi which cost us only VND60,000.

There was another incident, I tried to board a Mailinh and was stopped by the security of the airport. Of course, as a consumer, I dont give a damn to the security but the Mailinh driver was too afraid that he drove off. Again, I went to departure hall.

There was another incident, I boarded a Vinasun and was asked to wait. The driver tried to pick up another SG passenger to share cab with me!!! However, I asked the SG guy nicely not to share the cab as we were heading different direction.

For those arriving HCMC soon, beware of the taxi service at the airport!

There is a good news, today when I board a Mailinh taxi (7 seater), the starting rate has gone down from 15,000 to 12,000 and per kilometer is 10500 instead of 11000. As this is the beginnning, not all Mailinh taxi has adjusted their price.
