Its indeed true that rental in HCM City has rocketed quite a lot for the past 2 years. This year alone, the inflation rate in the whole country has gone beyond what the government has planned for. a one room flat for the locals, with attached toilet, will cost around that price. I remember when i first met my wife some years ago, she was staying in a rented unit at Q.BT, and the rental then was already US$100 a month. It is not cheap to `feed' your gal who is staying in HCM City. If your gal depends on you fully, then be prepared to fork out around S$500 monthly (if the gal knows how to save). If the gal thinks you are loaded, then even SGD$1k a month also not enuff
