Except for HIV/AIDS, there is no need to include the name,
identity card number or address of the patient when notifying a
STI; only demographic data (age, gender, ethnicity, nationality)
for epidemiologic analysis is required. Notification of STIs is
not meant for case detection or contact tracing. As such patient
privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
