The present Hatyai now is a pale shadow of its glory days..... cheonging places still have but not many. In fact JB has much much more cheong places than Hatyai now.
Shopping in Hatyai oso not cheap now..... unlike years ago where many Malaysians go to shop in Hatyai.... now not worth it as many items there are more expensive than prices in Malaysia.
Now the situation is reversed as Thais travel to Malaysia now to do their shopping... lol.
Now Baht stronger then Rm, 10 years back 1RM = 10+ Baht now 1 Rm only 7+ Baht. After conversion rate some of the things still cheaper to get in MY.
