As long as there is excessive demand and supply shortage (not only in terms of ML/FL population but also on service offerings/quality), the price will continue to increase. The price increase also helps the ML/FL weed out the lower spending power customers and work on the higher ones which could more likely give them good tips.

For the high spending power customers, they might welcome the change as it could result in easier booking for their favourite MLs/FLs. Not forgetting that the travel ban has forced many of these higher population to be stuck locally.

So the golden question is: what can we do? Unfortunately, not much other than hope for GL and travel to resume. For a lower spending power customer, like me, it makes no sense to squeeze my wallet dry or to accept an unsatisfying service with the same cost.

So I chose not to be a carrot and look for some other hobbies/lifestyle for now.
