MIFI is a mobile wifi router. Small like 10 cm, you take it with you, and you have your wifi hotspot walking with you anywhere you go. You put a SIM card with data plan inside it (e..g., Simpati 4G), and it connects to one of the local 4G operators. That is the link to the Internet. It broadcasts wifi signal, and then up to 10 (or more) devices can connect to it, and through to the Internet.
If I well understand, that is NOT what you need now. You want fixed Internet access at home. Ok, a MIFI router can be ok too, but it's like buying a deluxe riding bicycle, when you just wish an exercise bicycle to move your feet on pedals to lose weight at home.
If you need Internet access at home, why not walkin in a phone operator office and ask what they propose you for your home?
Maybe Telkomsel offers a plan with SIM card(s) AND fixed access at home.
All this, without that I know if in Batam having cables (fibers or copper) reaching home is easy, common, convenient. If you have phone cables reaching your home or your building, then it should be convenient to have Internet access through it. If not, it's more a problem. Then, it's probably a good workaround to buy a MIFI router. But how is the quality of signal there?
This solution could be more expensive than having fixed Internet access at home via cables. Consider that a 4G mobile router years ago was 100 USD. Now probably much cheaper. ZTE, Huawei, etc. are good suppliers.
Then the cost of data. If you want Internet at home to watch TV, ouch!
Lots of Gigabytes go away.
