Dear samsters,

I am toying around with an idea, and I wish to get feedback and advice from all the seniors here about it.

As a newbie to HDY, I benefitted vey much from Sammyboy forum and this thread for newbies as it allows me to research and plan for my trip there. However it is a tedious task as it runs to over 120 pages and more than 1800 posts! Furthermore, many of the postings irrelevant to the thread topic.

I have this idea to start a resource centre for those who want to cheong hatyai DIY style, ie no middleman or guide. I am thinking of starting this DIY guide for newbies to HDY in the following:

1. Start a new thread in the forum
2. Set-up a website from a free web hosting co..eg geocities
3. Set up a blog

Information to be provided includes:

1. Travel details - air/coach
2. Transportation
3. Accomodation
4. The farms - standard price, tips on how to get the best deals, recommendation etc
5. Places of interest, entertainment outlets, shopping, eating places, traditional massage etc
6. Thailand's custom and laws

I hope that you can give me more ideas and advice on the above so that I can compile and set up this DIY guide soon. I hope to get it started and going before end of May.
