Nope, not typo - he did say that, in chinese "如果不很好吃,不到你標準,算我騙你，好嗎？" That statement was literally a one-way ticket for him if he failed. He said that all fired up - it was awesome (all sense of the word) LOL! And seeing a chief-cook/chef with such passion - I won't pass it up.
