The reasons why I will still stay in Lailai mutiara once in a blue moon is because of the following:
1) It is one of the best budget hotel around the vicinity, interior and comfort level better than hotel bahari and hotel batam star. I would classify it as a good one star hotel as it has not reach the status of 2 star unlike hotel sentosa (2 star but with a rundown pool)
2) It is within 100m from goldbird and orchid so convenient to book a cewek without the need to hire transport or walk far far.
3) It is beside the popular sundanese food outlet Warung sunda bu joko and macdonald which opens 24 hours convenient for night owl like me.
4) The food in the room service menu is cheap and delicious. I ordered special fried rice with milo ice for 2 sets (me & cewek) only cost 900k=$9 nia. No need to go outside to buy dinner.
5) There are a few massage centres nearby like abi massage, bahari massage, Lailai massage that can be called to your hotel room. (got happy ending)
However sport massage and taiqi massage is nearby but they do not do outcall massage instead they do incall massage means you go to their place for massage.(no happy ending)
However, none of the hotel in batam can match or come close to Formosa in terms of :
1) Value for money stay at $48 for a high end 3 star hotel given that the room is well furnished, carpeted, spacious, good wifi reception, etc
2) Superb centralised location.
north of Formosa - NED, harmoni hotel pubs, goodway, etc
northwest of Formosa - Pacific, harbourbay
northeast of Formosa - seruni disco, the hills, spa secret, ihotel
south of Formosa - Penuin, BCS mall,etc
southwest of Formosa - DC mall and the land of massage paradise
southeast of Formosa - Pelita area
3) Many massage joints, restaurants, shopping centres (Nagoya hill, lucky plaza, citywalk, etc), money changers, booking joints around the vicinity.
4) Impressive customer service with warm hospitality to hotel guest will make you feel at home. Bellboy, reception staff, security guards, chambermaids all are very polite and friendly.
5) More happening place than any other hotel. This is because it has king's massage with lots of pretty syt that can be called to your room for massage.
There is also alishan ktv if you like to sing with companion of pretty/sexy cewek sitting beside you for raba raba in a KTV room plus the option to have short time at 900k or long time at 1.35 juta overnight.
There is also tea story for tea lover and a 24 hour restaurant in case want to eat supper but lazy to go out.
6) A decent breakfast with a good mix of oriental & western cuisine which is good for a 3 star standard.
7) Provision of safe deposit box at the room behind counter . Peace of mind leaving all the valuables and passport there.
8) Many convenient store nearby within walking distance and zhi char kopitiam for makan supper.
9) Many hotel appointed taxi (safer) on standby outside hotel in case need to travel to other place urgently.
10) Last but not least, the air-con has improved, more cooling than last time and the hugh king size bed is more comfortable than the bed of some other hotels. The option of switching on the LED ceiling light, cove light, bedside light, table light create a very relax ambience for the guest in the room...
