Sorry to break all your bubbles, but there's no such thing as metered taxi in Batam, save for a handful of Bluebird cabs... Like their namesake, Bluebird cabs are far and few between...

Minimum charge for taxi is 30k rupiah, even if it's 500m.. Usual rate from harborbay bay to Nagoya area is 45k if u take from taxi counter. If you are pinching pennies, walk about 100metres to Circle K and u can get cabs there for 40k to Nagoya area. But hey, what's 5k rupiah...??

Nagoya to BCS Mall area, usual rate is about 40-50k.

Nagoya area to Batam Centre, between 50-60k is normal...

Too expensive..? Take ojeks; minimum 20k....
