DIY online divorce

Hi, would like to seek advice with regards to the online divorce portal. Anyone has diy their own divorce without using lawyers? Both parties have a mutual agreement to part amiably. Basically it’s an uncontested divorce, no children no high end properties. How long is the process before it’s official? Anyone used DivorceBureau? Many thanks

Civil or Syariah court?

What you are looking for is Divorce by Mutual means.

Amicable split here. Nobody wanted anything from anyone. No kids, no shared assets.

But even then, we still used a lawyer. Reasoning being that its better to have a professional sort it out rather than slip up on some minor details later on. Was also not in the right frame of mind to worry about the paperwork.

If nobody is disputing any terms, just one lawyer is enough to help you file for divorce. Cost around 3k. Filed in December, final judgment in April the next year. Relatively fuss-free.

If you want to use the e-portal, make sure everyone is on the same page, and everything is in order. Portal page also has a disclaimer:

Caveat emptor. What seems to be the cheapest option at this moment, may end up costing you more down the line.

Good luck. Wish you well in this difficult period of time.

A lawyer will be better just in case.
Simply because private agreements come second before law.
