there is one satay and BBQ stall there now charging 70 cents for one stick of satay, things r getting way too expensive now, the hawkers are practicing profiteering everywhere

if you survey carefully, most stalls in hawker centres their prices are now very close to what coffeeshop stalls are selling, meaning the hawkers pay low rent to NEA but selling food at market rate and that is profiteering !

I thought the hawkers should sell food at reasonable prices to the general public cos giving them low rent is the NEA's objective to help lower income Singaporean ! :(

hope the NEA will look into this :(

Their food is not bad but their customers are mostly youngsters !

You can HARDLY FIND customers in the late 40s, 50s or 60s queuing for his noodle becos the bowl of noodle is way too expensive. :(

That was the first intention by NEA when they rented stalls to hawkers at a very cheap price - to sell food at cheap, affordable price.

However, they allowed hawkers to rent out the stalls at a higher price, which caused food prices to increase.

So how to reverse the process?

It is correct. Just not sure if NEA enforce the no sublet rule.

Happy Labour Day to All ! Nestled next to the busy Jurong East St 24 market is this Zai Shun Curry Fish Head. Signatures will always be the steamed fish in bean sauce, curry fish head, fried prawn roll 虾枣,steamed minced pork, various vegetables. Not seen on photos here are herbal chicken and dong po meat 东坡肉 you can also try. Total bill for 5 dishes for 4pax as below wo drinks will set you back by $64. Good with porridge or rice...

Sometimes you can get more exotic fishes like Giant Grouper or Empurau aka 龙趸鱼 or 忘不了. Prices are definitely lower than the major restaurants.
