Public toilets cheaper mah.. Also many ppl help, so maintainence fee also low.

Pte or personal toilets more nicely done up and renovated to ur taste(make up). Ex Ex EX. only the rich can afford.

It has been almost 7 yrs since I first started this thread. The last I went Xiamen was last Oct.... Xiamen has changed a lot. The road has widen and more new buildings... hopefully I can go over to Xiamen during winter period.

requirement of hotel only near brothel? anyway whole xiamen island area is very small so brothel is not really that hard to find ... y not u give more info like .... if your company is paying for trip? any budget?

Crown plaza is probably OK ... sheraton too ;) Nice thing bout sheraton is that there are lots of streetwalker at the back of the hotel ... easy access ;) but not sure bout quality and service tho .. never tried

Train by far is the easiest .. there are direct train from DG to XMN .... u might reach xiamen at midnite tho ... not a big prob cuz the train station is in the middle of the city.. lots taxi around.

But becareful in DG train station .. be very careful.

If you dont mind paying ... can fly to XMN ... might cost u bout RMB300-400 if u book earlier. XMN airport is on island too .. so its very convinient to get a cab

Saw this ad. in www.bighooha.sg, thinking of buying the land tour, thereafter extend my stay there. Not sure worth to do it this way, as never been to Xiamen before.

Dongguan got train directly to Xiamen? I've been doing research for the past few days, nothing said about this leh.. There is one from Guangzhou East Station, but that takes about 10hours plus.. Whereas if I take a coach from Shenzhen, it will take me about 7hours only.. dunno why coach faster than train also.. one more week to my trip and i am still unclear on how to make my way there.. jialat..

Sure just 7 hours? From SZ to XMN is about 700km .. so that is averaging 100km/h .. including all the stops and city roads? My friend took that coach b4 .. 12 hours :)

Wan fast then fly ... Xiamen airline or Southern airline sometime can get cheap price... RMB200 is the best i have seen so far
