I'll describe fish-tank houses here ( Cat 50 Thai and Cat 80/100 PRC) as they are usually the ones with men (OKT, pimps) outside.
Choose a house you fancy, and just walk in. If there are men(OKT, or pimps) standing outside, you can ignore them and walk straight in, although if they talk to you (they'll usually ask if you have any regular girls or to inform you that they have new girls), it's polite to acknowledge them with a short reply (I usually just say I'll take a look at the ladies first).
When viewing the girls, don't stand in the doorway. Walk into the room itself.
As long as you don't piss the OKTs off, they usually won't be rude to you. If you dun like the girls, just thank the OKT and leave. Sometimes the OKT will say something like "take one of the girls lah, support me leh, etc". Don't let that pressure you into taking a girl you dun want. Just smile and say "Next time, next time" and leave.
Just be polite and they'll return in kind. In all my years in GL, I've never had a OKT be rude to me although one of them expressed unhappiness that I didn't take his girls.
There is a receptionist of sorts in the houses (he stands behind a small counter), but he's actually more of a cashier. He collects money and keeps time to ensure the sessions end on time.
If you do see a girl you like, just tell the OKT and give him or the cashier the money. The girl will grab a towel and bring you to her room.
The room is usually small, clean and quite cozy, since it is the girl's personal room as well (she sleeps there). It's very safe. She will have no chance to steal your things since she's with you 100% of the time, and she also wouldn't want to be arrested, since the house is licensed and regulated by law. It's far more likely the customer steals the WL's things than vice versa (there was an ass of a SBF bro who stole the WL's panties).
Undress and she'll shower with you. Then proceed to bed and bonk bonk bonk. Then'll she'll shower with you again. Get dressed, thank her and leave. My advice is not to tip her, even if she hints about it. Tipping her will make you obligated to tip her again whenever you visit her, and also spoils the market.
On the way out, the OKT, whom you felt was intimidating, will actually seem like a nice person and they usually will thank you as well.
