Longhouse Soo Kee Duck Rice and Noodles. Tried back their boneless duck rice after 16 years when they were at Longhouse at Upper Thomson. They haven't skipped a beat as it was just as good as before. A choice of their think sweet or thin vinegar 🌶 sauce made that meal a treat. $4 per plate which includes a loh nung (braised hard boiled egg, generous portion of boneless duck, brown yam type rice, cucumber, braised chewy peanuts and a good lathering of their fantastically thick, sweet, salty and oh over so tasty loh ak (braised duck gravy). Duck gizzards available upon request. Maybe it's me, but I found their accompanying bowl of duck soup lacked any real saltishness and sweetness, like previously. If so then the best duck rice soup cum boneless duck still goes to the Sean Kee Boneless Duck Rice at the corner Coffeeshop at 2-4 Lorong 35 Geylang. However Soo Kee is much nearer for me and parking on top the hill and behind the market is a breeze, especially on Sundays. Sorry Soon Kee, maybe try to improve on your soup and you may become my favourite place for boneless duck rice.

Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee

Once upon a time, there were two famous wanton mee stalls in Dunman Food Centre. One is called “Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee”, while the other is called “Eng’s Char Siew Wan Ton Mee”. Each of them has a fair share of fans.

It started from a joint partnership between two people in Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee. Then the partnership broke up and one of them went to open “Eng’s Char Siew Wan Ton Mee”.
I went for lunch one Sunday afternoon, and ordered “Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee“.

For those of you who have yet to try the their wanton noodles, let me try to give you a brief taste note. You have to first know that, they do not taste like the normal wanton noodles we eat.

Noodles:
Their homemade egg noodles is much thicker than the normal mee kia.

Chilli:
Super spicy, not for the faint heat!

Wanton:
Their meat is pretty well marinated and very tasty.
