If you’re wondering if Wen Wen Pork Rib Big Prawn Mee has closed for good since their previous location at Geylang Bahru Market & Food Centre is now undergoing renovation. Not to worry, they are now at an more accessible location at Old Airport Road Food Centre.

We took the chance to visit them on their first day at their new location. The boss Mr Richard, is super friendly and apologized profusely for making us wait for the fresh crabs to arrive on that day.

Apart from offering staple items like Prawn Mee ($4), Pigs Intestines Noodles ($5), Pork Rib Noodles ($5), Pig Tail Noodles ($5.50) & La La Soup ($5). They offer a Seafood Hot Pot ($50 onwards) that features a prawn-based broth used for their prawn noodles as well.

We couldn’t wait to snap away just looking at the mesmerizing colours of the Seafood Pot. Take it slow in the beginning and add your ingredients to the seafood pot to allow it to absorb the flavours of the broth.

The Seafood Pot comes with a variety of ingredients (crabs, prawns, clams, pigs intestines, pigs tail, pigs skin and pork ribs). Our version had baby abalone added to it which had a super smooth, chewy texture and pleasant briny flavour.

Other premium ingredients such as crayfish are available as well, but do call to check for its availability before going down.

The ingredients in the Seafood Hot Pot are all very well prepared. The crabs from India were extremely fresh with tender sweet flesh that can be pulled apart easily from the shell.

We really liked the crystal-like pig’s skin and pig’s tail that was packed full with flavour and a bit of collagen for a rich meal.

Based on the Seafood Hot Pot experience that we had, we can predict queues forming even on weekdays. Do call to reserve your Seafood Hot Pot in advance as there are a limited supply of seafood that they bring in for each day.

If you’re dining in a small group or don’t have time to slowly enjoy the seafood hot pot experience, try out their premium noodle offerings such as Abalone Noodle ($22.80) or Abalone, Pork Rib & Big Prawn Noodle ($18) as well.

Expected damage: $50 to $150 (Depending on number of people dining)

Eng Kee Bak Kut Teh 永记肉骨茶

Address - 341 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 , #01-04
Block 341 Market & Food Centre
Singapore 560341
Opening Hours:
Tue-Fri 10.00am - 3.00pm
Sat-Sun 9.00am to 3.00pm
(Close on Mon & PH)

Thanks to the reminder of fellow bro here , I have not come here for many many years until today. Surprised to find operating hours changed as they used to open much earlier.

Even from the past, the braised dark sauce pig's trotters will be the highlight. If there are few more people eating, we will add on the bak kut teh 肉骨茶 and vegetable soup.

Frankly the pig's trotters are still good. I was not into the fatty type but the lean ones were meaty and tasty albeit a little salty.

There used to be an "Ah Mui" there but I didn't see her today. Apparently, as I know, they were related to Rong Cheng at Sin Min.

What a blast from the past...
