Well sorry ydgduo but some of us do have to think about money and especially when the yen is at a near all time high. In 2007 it did go the other way (123Yen/$), but those days are gone. I have other financial responsibilities and need to budget accordingly. I would love to be a multi-millionaire banker(Singapore must have quite a few) but alas I am not. To the Singaporians who do have the money to burn , then great - come to Tokyo and spend away - you will have a great time.

I have been to the alpha inn before and yes it is quite an experience but now it is just too expensive for my budget:

The cheapest room is a whopping 9,030 yen for 2 hours. And depending on what day of the week it is and when you go, many of the rooms are full/not available(usually the cheaper rooms).
I would rather get a decent sized room at La pia or another hotel in Shinjuku/Shibuya for 3-4000 yen for 3 hours.

Another great hotel that I used to go to is PA PLAZA in Shuibuya. They have a few rooms with swimming pools inside. Prices are more varied than Alpha Inn but the pool rooms are expensive too.
