It is not a law but one of the compulsory licensing condition for the license to be issued to the establishment.
Procedure wise the establishment is supposed to obtain your identification papers and record it accurately into the register but in practice...... many places are bochap and just ask the customer to self record.

Just put surname and initials and nric. Leave out my hp number.

If MP kenna raid with me in it, nothing wrong to destress.. even no brief, can say heat rash reaction n took it off.

But AV catch you for non-registration, they start threatening to hold you for bail, threaten to call OC, want you to be witness against MLs etc..

Just write name n nric.

But one MP want to scan my nric.. no can do.. I input details myself or write on piece of paper for them to later record in.. don't know why they scan and dont like what possible info they receive by scanning...

The barcode just contain the ic number. Nothing else. It just merely saves you the time to key in or write your ic number

Key details into a tablet is what makes me nervous. Next time you visit, just need to key in the NRIC, and find that your details are all stored inside. Granted, it is just name, NRIC number and phone number. But those tablets are networked, and probably accessing a database on a server hosting the shop's website and other applications ... If one day get hacked, :o

Av checked their database. Complained by name not same as in nric.

I'm just curious, has anyone here actually been caught in a raid or almost caught before? And if so, what happened after, were you charged or had your statement taken, and did you have to go to court or anything?
