Bro DaScolda, thanks for your sharing. I agree with you that the code serves to protect the punter so that he can post a honest FR on the SP and in turn, other bros may benefit from his FR - whether to patronise the SP or not.

Unfortunately there is no way to control access to this forum that is open to all. This means that the SP, either through her own means or from other bros who may have shared with her, will be able to read the FR on her services. If the FR is positively-written, she can expect more business coming her way (which may mean a possible drop in service standards) as other bros will most probably be queuing up to try her highly-rated services. Conversely if the FR is poor, her business might get affected and this may not be fair to her either if it is an isolated case.

Now while PM may be a good way to highlight one's bad experiences with a particular SP in a discreet manner, the problem is this is still an open forum. Thus for bros who may have formed their good own impression of a particular SP, based on the previous positively-written FRs, what will be the solution for them?

Should the dissatisfied bro post his honest FR and risk repercussions from both the SP, assuming she is aware of her own FR, and other bros (who may have tried her services and rated her highly)? If you asked me, there is much to lose and nothing much to be gained from the bro's perspective.

However, if one was to look at this issue at a higher level, it is unfair to other SPs whose businesses may be affected due to the not-so-accurate / no-longer-true FRs of that particular SP. So the question is how should we reward good SP for their services and motivate poor SP to improve?

The answer is there must be a responsible party who will channel the feedback, both good and bad, into improvements. This in turn, will allow us as punters to get our money's worth. That, I strongly believe, is the way to go forward.
