Allan pm me and before I could reply, for some reason, he decided to latch on to an old post and call me a "big cannon" or whatever.

I simply pointed out to him that he should not be pm-ing me for info on gens if he felt that way about me.

That is all, and Allan graciously said that yes, he can't force me to share anything via Pm. And that was all. Simple. No harm came to anyone.

In short, someone calls me names, and I simply point out that one shouldn't be expecting info from a person that one chooses to insult in the forum.

After Allan acknowledged that he can't force me to share via PM, I replied to say that I will share when appropriate and possible. In other words, I still don't mind sharing despite the insult, but see how it goes lah.

But now why do YOU have to stick your nose in this and try to go into my character? What's in it for you?

Now this is indeed curious as we have no quarrel before?

So I'm not interested in continuing this discussion and I think the above explains things very clearly.

I know a few wls who maintain 2 wechat accounts. One is for personal contacts with friends in China and one separate account for customers in Singapore. Once they go back to PRC, they will block the ordinary or nasty clients to access to their wechat accounts. Meanwhile, they may allow the valued clients to continue liaising with them.

i am not curious about your story but more of why you claimed that it is unethical and yet used it on others. I hope you are not doing the same thing by pm-ing others for recommendation.:rolleyes:

And I don't think you understand what is an insult and i don't see how calling you a big cannon is an insult when it is the truth.

The point about reproducng PMs being unethical or wrong was brought up a couple of times by Max. Max I'm sorry that I mentioned you here, but you made me realize something I may not have realized before. And perhaps we can all learn from it - and that is it is somewhat unethical to reproduce a pm (ie copy and paste the contents)just for the sake of winning a cyberwar or online debate, especially if the contents of that pm reveals personal details or anything incriminating about someone else

However in this case, I merely mentioned that I received pm asking for recommendations or gems. This is NOT malicious, causes no harm to anyone, and is completely innocuous.

You however, were goading me into revealing who PM me or paste a screenshot of the PM here in your earlier post. Nice try, but if I were to do so and fall into your trap, you or someone else will take that as an opportunity to lambast me for pasting the contents of a private message here just to prove a point.

On your point about pming others for recommendations, nothing wrong with that in itself, but isn't it contradictory to ask someone for info and then insult the person shortly after?

I'm fine with you calling me a big cannon or whatever anyway. This is all virtual and your perception is not my reality ;)
