Thanks to the reminder of fellow bro here , I have not come here for many many years until today. Surprised to find operating hours changed as they used to open much earlier.

Even from the past, the braised dark sauce pig's trotters will be the highlight. If there are few more people eating, we will add on the bak kut teh 肉骨茶 and vegetable soup.

Frankly the pig's trotters are still good. I was not into the fatty type but the lean ones were meaty and tasty albeit a little salty.

There used to be an "Ah Mui" there but I didn't see her today. Apparently, as I know, they were related to Rong Cheng at Sin Min.

What a blast from the past...

Looks delicious.

Master Chicken

Kim Keat Palm Food Centre
Blk 22 Toa Payoh Lorong 7 #01-18
Singapore 310022
Opening Hours:
Tue-Sun: 10am - 7.30pm
(Closed on Mon)
Price : From $2.50

I always find the Michelin stars (not the consolation bib gourmand) somehow missed some of the most famous delicacies in Singapore - Chilli crab, Curry Fish Head and of course Hainanese Chicken Rice.
Some folks believe all Chicken Rice are the same but it's not to be. The old school Hainanese Yi Qun to the executive Mandarin Hotel Chatterbox set to the tourists' fav Tian Tian all spot different presentation and cook styles.
One recent good finds I have will be Master Chicken helmed by Chef Jason Lim. He may be young but his cook style and hardworking attitude on top of his friendly disposition make him a promising food entrepreneur.
His trademark deboned chicken taste succulent and has a good bite. He uses good grains which also help in making the rice smells good and taste good yet not too overwhelming.
I had the giblets and liver and they taste good. Of course a good chilli, minced ginger and dark sauce complement the meal with a nice clear chicken soup.

ST food critics share their 8 picks for yummy prawn noodles

http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyl...-prawn-noodles

PENANG CULTURE

Penang Culture's halal Penang food got a tweak recently with new additions to the menu.

Some are good, such as the Premium Lobster & Scallop Noodles ($16.50), which turns the humble Penang Hokkien prawn noodles into a gourmet version topped with scallops, slipper lobster, chicken pieces. fishcake, a hard-boiled egg and kangkong.

What is important is that the broth is as rich as in the original hawker version, with the complex flavours of the prawns, crabs and chicken bones used to brew it.

WHERE: Penang Culture, three outlets at Changi Airport Terminal 2, Departure Hall, Level 3, tel: 6546-7793; Jem, 04-27, tel: 6734-8006; Nex, B1-76, tel: 6634-0667; Century Square Shopping Mall, 04-12, tel: 6789-8180

MRT: Changi Airport, Jurong East, Tampines, Serangoon

OPEN: 10.30am to 10pm daily (Changi Airport), 11am to 10pm (Jem, Next and Century Square) INFO: http://www.gdgroup.com.sg/
