Can't wait for April to come........

Maybe for those popular ones. Anyway, competition tough these days. Upping their price too much will lead to lesser business. Dun worry, there are always new stocks coming in.

$500 if you stay in 1-3 room flat. === 250 in April?
$400 if you stay in 4-5-executive flat. === 200 April?

Gov never state the amount.
Since 2 installment..should be half each.

GST offset package only for 4 years from 2007 to 2010.

If u stay in 3 room and below and earned up to 24K per year.
You get $250 each year on 1 Jul from 2007 to 2010 ie Total $1000.
If u NSmen exNSmen..can get $100 more but only once.
So total will be $1100.

If u stay in 4-5 exec flat and earn more than 24K and up to 100K per year.
You get $200 each year on 1 Jul from 2007 to 2010 ie Total : $800
If u NSmen exNSmen..can get $100 more but only once.
So total will be $900.

Extracted from Budget 2008: Growth Dividends (http://www.singaporebudget.gov.sg/growth_dividends.html)

How and when can I get my Growth Dividends?

You will receive a letter from CPF Board in mid April 2008 to inform you of the amount of Growth Dividends and 2008 GST Credits you can receive.

If you have already signed up for your GST Credits in 2007, you will automatically receive your Growth Dividends through the same mode as your GST Credits (i.e. bank account / cheque) in two installments, the first on 30 April 2008, and the second on 1 October 2008.

If you have not signed up for your GST Credits, you must do so to receive both your 2008 GST Credits and Growth Dividends. You can sign up online (GST Offset Package - Home Page (http://www.gstoffset.gov.sg)) or by hardcopy forms available at CPFB Service Centres, Community Centres/Clubs and Community Development Councils. To receive the first installment of Growth Dividends by 30 April 2008, you must do so online (GST Offset Package - Home Page (http://www.gstoffset.gov.sg)) by 23 April 2008. If you sign up by 25 June 2008, you will receive your first installment of Growth Dividends on 1 July 2008. For sign-ups after 25 June 2008, you will receive your Growth Dividends after 1 July 2008, between 4 to 15 working days after the sign-up.

why they drag ? i guess is to make u happy for 'awhile' everytime of the year when they give out the $$$. so that means give out 3 times once every 3 years, u will shiok/happy/song 1 time per year.

if 1 shot give out all, u will forget they make u song/happy/shiok, so they rather give out in small portion for a longer period of time. by then the next elect comes, they will come out with another $$$ giving scheme again ?

If anybody who bother to go do some calculations, no way a toal or gross income( combine or not combine) at S$8000.00 can afford a private housing. The CPF deduction is one thing but the deposit and cash up front need to be at least 200K so that monthly installment is in the affordable range... more over with that kind budget, one can only think of private housings with very small floor area and maybe far away from town..

For those who cannot afford private housing, buy resale flats or HDB EA or masionette is the only solution....

Buying HDB resales flat lease will be definitely less than 99 years ..if you buy a HDB unit for more than 30 years old,
chances is nobody is going to buy your flat later.

If no choice ..have to take bank loan must well buy a private unit of course provided your basic salary is high
plus you have strong CPF ordinary account balances :D

Given the current situation in sgp, No way can a family income of $8000 above afford a private housing... and yet they cannot buy from hdb.
How did the g'ment come up with such drastic policy???
Sgp flats are way over priced and sg people have no job security in future.
Better migrate to other countries where living standard is more affordable...
People in sgp don't need to live in a first class first world country with high healthcare/housing/transport/ERPs and other things.
sgp people just need affordable life styles like our neighbours.

True...

The resale flat age also plays a part if you wan to sell them.

The pity fact is that as citizens, we should be given entitlement to affordable flat/homes.. Why should there be such a rediculous cap on income as to who can or cannot qualify to apply for a flat?? Moreover, the income cap at SGD8000.00 is too low... At the current standard of living, SGD 8000.00 for a couple with 1 kid is just enough to make ends meet honestly... Not to mention rising cost of medical care, transport, food etc etc...
